Overview

Everest base camp Trek provides you the great opportunity to have unique experience in the Everest region of Nepal. If you have ever longed to set eyes on the world's highest peak, then this adventurous trek gives you the opportunity to fulfill that dream. Ever since the days of early climbing expeditions, this mountain with an altitude of 8884 m has had a lure of its own, drawing climbers to scale it and trekkers to gaze on its icy faces. Naturally, the trail to the base camp of the mountain has become one of the most popular routes for trekking in Nepal. From Kathmandu, we shall fly to Lukla, and the adventure begins as we land at its tiny airstrip. We shall spend several days trekking through the homelands of the Sherpa inhabitants—via their villages and Buddhist monasteries, with distant views of Everest and neighboring Ama Dablam considered by many to be among the most beautiful mountains in Nepal. An extra day shall be spent at Namche Bazaar—the bustling market town in the heart of Sherpa country, and a cluster of houses set among the high summer grazing pastures. These rest days allow time to explore further and to acclimatize yourself with the elevating altitude. The major attractions for this trek shall be the awe-inspiring views which unfold from the summit of Kala Patthar, and the chaotic ice sculptures of the Khumbu Glacier, Nuptse and the south-west face of Everest itself. In addition to these, the personal sense of achievement that many experiences at the end of their trek are most striking.

Chitwan National Park, Bardia National Park along with 11 other national parks in Nepal are rich in different kind of flora and wildlife, birds, such as the rare great one horned rhinoceros, several species of deer, bear leopard dolphin, crocodile, birds, tiger etc. living in this park in their natural habitat. The parks are very popular for elephant safari, dugout canoeing, nature walk, bird watching, jungle excursion and visit to the village of local tribes called Tharu.

Chitwan National Park in the central Terai lowlands and Bardia National Park in the western Terai provide some of the best wildlife and nature viewing places in Asia. Tour on elephant back, jeep and boat. We have a choice of Jungle Lodges, Tented Camps and Guest Houses from where you can explore the Himalayan parks and its wildlife. Accommodation in lodge/tented camp, all sightseeing and outings including elephant back safari, nature/bird walk, boat ride, jeep safari (as per specific itinerary provided for different packages), park entrance fees, all meals for the duration of the package tour. Situated in forest setting in an area rich in the diverse ecology of this park, this unique wildlife resort presents the perfect jungle experience.

The original tented camp and the newly constructed jungle resort in an area highly acclaimed for animal sighting is the attraction of this resort. The area covered is an island in the River Narayani, home to the two types of crocodiles found in Nepal and hundreds of migratory birds.

Bardia national Park situated in western Terai of Nepal is one of largest undisturbed parks in the region. The park is the home of many endangered animals, reptiles and birds - including the elusive Tiger. Over the years Bardia has also been a good place for tiger viewing - a rare event anywhere. Recently sightings of a group of wild elephants have further enhanced the wildlife experience possible in this beautiful and unspoiled sanctuary

The Kosi Tapu and the Kosi Barrage in east Nepal provide one of the best places in Nepal to view migratory waterfall, waders and shore birds during the winter months. Many species not recorded elsewhere in the region have been seen here. Thousands of birds congregate here in January and February before they migrate north when the warm weather begins

35 minute Trans Himalayan flight Altitude: Lukla at 2800m/9184ft & Phakding (2652m/8698ft) Distance of walking- Approx of 8 Km- 3 to 4 hours. We drive to airport early in the morning to take our flight to Lukla (35 min flight) and meet our other assistance trekking crew there and start our trek. Today, you will take an easy walk passing through Chaurikharka village and make a descent towards the Dudhkoshi Ghat (2,530m/8,300ft). The trail follows the bank of the Dudhkoshi River until Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft) where we estimate for overnight today. First day is short walking and we staying lower than Lukla height for this night so it helps to acclimatization. Explore remaining with this local village. Overnight at Mt. Lodge. B/L/D

Phakding - Namche Bazaar: Altitude: 3440m/11283ft Distance of walking- 10-12 Km - 5-6 hours

Morning breakfast at Lodge at Phakding then start walking for a slightly longer day to Namche Bazaar. At first, the trail crosses Dudhkoshi River over a long suspension bridge, then walking through beautiful pine forest. After about 2 hours of leisurely walk, we will reach to Monjo and soon thereafter, we will be at the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park, where we will check our permit (make permit), then short descent to the Dudh Kosi river again passing lots of Mani stones and in scripts and shortly reach to Jorsale, the last stop before heading up hill to Namche. Since no tea house is available from Jorsale to Namche Bazaar portion, we will have to have our lunch here. From jorsale, across the river again with long suspension bridge, then short walking through the riverbank brings you to another deep suspension bridge which is known as a HILLARY SUNSPENSION BRIDGE. Crossing this bridge connects you to the big hill which required a tough walk all the way up to Namche Bazaar. Little more than half walking to this hill, there is a rest point which gives you a first glimpse of Mt. Everest, it is just amazing. Namche Bazaar is the gateway to Mt. Everest and is the main trading centre of this region. This day, you will overnight in Namche Bazaar. B/L/D

Today, we will spend a day in Namche Bazaar, resting and allowing our bodies to become acclimatized to the altitude of (3,440m/11,283ft). The best acclimatization hike we could recommend for this day is to Everest View point which is approx of 2 hours uphill, the great view of Mt. Everest and Khumbu Himalayan panorama. You may just explore Namche Bazaar, visit its Sherpa museum- a great place to learn Sherpa culture and history of mountaineering and if this happens to be Saturday, you would have a wonderful local market (Hatt Bazaar) at Namche Bazaar, it is interesting and a wonderful experience about how the locals do exchange their goods or buying their requires stuff for the market itself. Namche Bazaar, itself is a tourist shopping hub with all the required trekking and mountaineering clothing and equipment. O/N at Namche. B/L/D

After having our wonderful stay at Namche Bazaar with acclimatized, we will again continue walking to our ultimate goal of onward to Everest Base Camp route.Today after breakfast we start our trek with pleasant walk through mountain ride, enjoying with magnificent view of mountains on the right. The great view of the mighty peaks of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kwangde peak with view of the eastern snow capped mountains.Short descent brings us to the riverside, across the river and then prepares to walk over the uphill through the forested path, the walking is gradual ups with couple of steep up and continuous uphill to reach to Tyangboche(2 and half hours) for overnight.Tyangboche, one of the most beautiful places in the Himalaya, which is famous for its amazing views of Ama Dablam Mountain and the Tyangboche monastery itself. The Tengboche monastery is one of the biggest Buddhist monasteries of Khumbu region, your guide will take you to see this monastery surroundings, chant with Buddhist monks, enjoy the praying ceremony. O/N at Tyangboche.B/L/D

Breakfast at Tyangboche, then will start walking of this day. The trail descends down winding through the rhododendron forest to Deboche and crossing a bridge over the raging Imja Khol River. Hug the valley wall, and then traverse the plains to Pangboche village which is the biggest settlement village of Sherpa peoples, it has a great chance to see the typical Sherpa peoples, culture and traditions. If you interested, you may plan to have lunch here and while the lunch is preparing (takes approx of 30 minute), take a short hike to the monastery over to hill at Pangboche- probably the oldest monastery of Khumbu.Walking onward to Dingboche from here is mostly gradual uphill, the vegetation got changed thus we are now likely to see the dry and deserted mountains. O/N at Dingboche. B/L/D

On this day you will rest before the last leg of the journey. You may have full day rest at Dingboche or explore the surrounding valley Chhukung and Imja valley which is connecting with the most interesting Island Peak and to the high passes of Amphu Laptse to Makalu Barun National park.If you interested, you may hike to the Chhukung RI (5000m Approx) for the panorama of the valley or explore the Dingboche itself with its typical local peoples and their life styles. It is very essential to have a complete rest and relax. O/N at Dingboche.B/L/D

From this day onward, the trek is gradual up hill; due to the altitude it is harder and tough. However till reaching to the Dungla, the walking is mostly gradual and after here to the top of the hill to the memorial stupas of the climbers who lost their life’s while trekking and climbing over to the Khumbu Himalayas, the trail is steep incline thus it is a tough up hill.Another short walk from this hill top following a walking over rugged mountain route brings us to the small settlement of this hill top at Loboje for overnight. The best views of Mt. Lobuche, Mt. Pumari and the Nuptse are just incredible. The day and night expected to be pretty cold here. O/N at Lobuche. B/L/D

First walking from Lobuche onward to Gorekshep is easier. Hiking from Gorekshep to Everest Base Camp is mostly straightforward; the trail wound in and out, rocky dunes and moraine, little ups and downs along the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier before eventually stepping out onto the glacier itself. Explore this wonderful part of this amazing Himalayan glacier surroundings, visit the Khumbu ice fall etc and enjoy your most auspicious time with making best photos and videos. If this happens to be an event of the expedition seasons, you would likely to see the climbers who had their temporary climbing set up at base camp with their tented camps; it even looks the base camp colorful.Late afternoon, return back to Gorekshep and overnight. B/L/D

This day required an early walk up as we will head to the Kalapathar (the back rock hill top) by the morning to see the most amazing sunrise panorama over to the Mt. Everest (8848m) and its entire surroundings Khumbu Himalayas. The great view of Mt. Everest just in front of you is just incredible. The other great Himalayan panorama surrounding the Mt. Everest are, Pumari() chantse, and Lingtiring & south col on the left and Nuptse, Lhotse sar etc on the right.Enjoy this moment, as it is the best opportunity to photography and video the Himalayan Shangri-la. It could be freezing cold so make sure that you are warm enough with your clothing. After amazing time over here, return back to Gorekshep, breakfast and pack up your bag and get ready to walk back to Pheriche for overnight. Heading down now, the going is easier and the pace faster. Take back great memories with you and walk down hill towards the Pheriche. O/N at Pheriche.B/L/D

The walk from Pheriche to Tyangboche to the river valley is mostly down and easy then required an hour climbing over hill, this is the same way while you were trekking from Namche to Tyangboche. Walking to Namche is nice and pleasant. O/N at Namche.B/L/D

After breakfast, we hike down a trail steeply descends to the Hillary Suspension Bridge and then continues walking over several local villages and most of walking is at Dudh Kosi valley surroundings. You are already known with this day hike. Upon reaching to Lukla, refreshed up at your hotel and relax. Evening, you could have a party with your trekking crew as it is your celebration of Everest Base Camp Trek and the last night overnight at mountain. O/N at Lukla

    Travel insurance

Travel Insurance is mandatory for all customers who looking to travel in Nepal with the Mountain Hiking & Trekking .The Travel Insurance must cover both the evacuation and medical cost

There are many insurance companies that offer travel insurance services over the internet. You can choose from a wide variety of insurance companies as per your convenience. Especially when it comes to trekking in Nepal, there is always a narrow chance of minor health issues, injuries and most importantly – altitude sickness.

It is essential that you prefer an insurance rule that covers the cost of the helicopter rescue from the mountains in case of main accidents and delicate mountain sickness (AMS). through such great cases of an emergency evacuation, a helicopter service is the only way out of the mountains. This includes a rescue team for both – ground evacuation and rescue. Which is why we need your travel insurances to cover the cost of helicopter services and evacuation from the Himalayas

It is forever recovered to be safe than apologetic.

Before you plan your trip with Mountain Hiking & Trekking do make sure that your travel insurance covers all the costs mentioned above from a reliable company.
