The best time to trek in the Annapurna region of Nepal is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). These seasons offer the best weather conditions, clear mountain views, and comfortable trekking experiences.

1. Spring (March to May) – Best for Blooming Rhododendrons & Mild Weather

  • Temperature: 10°C to 20°C (day), colder at higher altitudes
  • Weather: Clear skies, pleasant temperatures, occasional light rain
  • Highlights: Beautiful rhododendron forests in full bloom, breathtaking Himalayan views, moderate crowds

2. Autumn (September to November) – Best for Clear Skies & Perfect Trekking Conditions

  • Temperature: 10°C to 20°C (day), colder at higher elevations
  • Weather: Stable with little to no rain, excellent visibility
  • Highlights: Crystal-clear mountain views, festive atmosphere (Dashain & Tihar festivals), ideal trekking conditions

Other Seasons:

  • Winter (December to February): Too cold at higher altitudes, heavy snowfall in some areas, but lower-altitude treks like Ghorepani Poon Hill are still possible.
  • Monsoon (June to August): Heavy rainfall, leeches, slippery trails, and poor visibility make trekking difficult. However, the rain-shadow areas like Upper Mustang and Nar Phu are good alternatives.

For the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), Annapurna Circuit, Mardi Himal, and Poon Hill treks, spring and autumn are the most recommended seasons.
